Real sales number for Palm Beach County homes in July 2014.  More sales are closing, less are distressed.- Stefan

For resale homes sold during July in Palm Beach County, the median sale price was $280,000, or 4 percent greater than last year.  A total of 1,515 homes changed hands in Palm Beach County and the average time to sell was 55 days.  Sales are taking slightly longer because buyers have more choices of homes.  The number of active listings went from 5,455 listings last year to 7,246 listing during July, an increase of 32.8 percent.  The additional inventory also means that buyers have gained a bit of leverage in what has been a seller’s market.  This leverage is helping to keep pricing at bay.  As predicted earlier this year, prices are still increasing but at a more stable and more traditional rate compared to the sky-rocketing prices of last year.
