Demolishing, not refurbishing, is the latest plan for the now-vacant Brix Italian Fishery off U.S. 1 north of Burt Reynolds Park, according to plans submitted to the town.

The Jupiter town council last fall gave unanimous approval for the owners remodel the building. The plan includes outdoor seating and a public dock with nine boat slips on the Loxahatchee River, according to the plan submitted by Bjarne Borg, co-founder of the Stockholm-based Index Investment Co. that owns the property.

The original plan called for 350 seats and the North American headquarters of Borg’s company on the building’s second floor. The latest plan calls for a slightly smaller structure, according to Jupiter records.
